DAY 1 - JOIN TOUR IN ANTALYA/ DALAMAN

Transfer from airport to our first night’s accomodation and check–in.

Hotel in Kas-7 nights.

DAY 2 – PHELLOS TO KAS HIKE

We set our sights on the picturesque village of Hacoglan, here we start the hike to Phellos. A gentle, ninety minute walk through the pine trees takes us to Eren peak before we descend to a plateau and the mountain ruins of Phellos.

Phellos has large Lycian tombs scattered over an area of stunning natural beauty. In one part of the ancient city ruins are two large house tombs in excellent condition with inscriptions and a large bas-relief of a bull.

A narrow, downhill path, hidden among the bushes gets us on the way to Cukurbag village where transport to Kas awaits. A vigorous day of walking with plenty of eye popping views along the way. Take a well deserved rest in Kaþ until the next adventure begins.(B, L)

DAY 3 – JEEP SAFARI

Jeep Safari in The Mountains behind Kas are some of the most beautiful anywhere in the Taurus. Below the tree line, & winter snow, are the yayla (highland plateaux.) Falling away from them; canyons, gorges and passes, down which in spring the melting snow rushes.
Many of these gorges were important trade routes, some still in use, some completely forgotten, though all at one time jealousy guarded. The scenery is dramatic: extensive pine and cedar forest, outcrops of juniper and plane and varied maquis are topped by the impressive Ak Mountains; snowcapped unit July, thereafter turning a light red until the Autumn snow. Until recently the tracks between villages were for donkeys and pack animals and these tracks can still now be followed, describing meandering and varied terrain instead of the direct vehicle roads which replaced them. Whether your interests be in the steps of forgotten civilisations, the geography and nature of a beatiful land or the attraction of unspoilt village life you will love walking and hiking in Lycian Turkey.

DAY 4 - SCUBA DIVING

With some of the best dive sites along Turkey's Mediterranean coast, boasting good visibility and a variety of sea-life, Kaþ is a great place to try SCUBA diving. If you're already a qualified and certificated diver, we include two dives on local sites. If you haven't yet learned to dive, we offer a fully supervised introductory course, specifically designed for beginners.

NB: If you are already qualified and wish to dive (other than the introductory course), you must produce a valid PADI, NAUI, CIMAS or BSAC diving certificate or equivalent. (B)

DAY 5 - SEA-KAYAKING TO SUNKEN CITY

A few kilometers to the east of Kas is Kekova Island. Off it’s northern shore lie the fascinating remains of the ancient settlement known locally as Batik Sehir (the Sunken City). Submerged in a few metres of clear, turquoise water the ancient city was consigned to the sea after an earthquake over 2000 years ago.The ruined walls, stairs of houses, and the outline of it’s jetty are still clearly visible.

Swimming and snorkelling are prohibited here - this is a protected archaeological site -so we take sea-kayaks to get a close-up look at the atmospheric ruins. These easy-to-handle craft allow us to get into the narrow, shallow channels that are off-limits to larger cruise boats. The combination of this unique site and the fun of sea kayaking results in a fantastic day out. (B, L)

DAY 6 - BOAT CRUISE/SNORKELLING
The Kaþ coastline is an ideal place for snorkelling and after a week of vigorous activities we spend a relaxing morning cruising around some of the beautiful coastal inlets in the area. We’ll have plenty of time to soak in the sun and snorkel in the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean. In the afternoon there is time on land to do any last minute shopping. For the adventurous amongst us, we can finish the holiday with a day of challenging canyoning in place of snorkelling. Participants should be aware that canyoning is an extreme sport with lots of abseiling, plenty of scrambling, and loads of splashing about in refreshing water - an adrenaline-pumping experience!

What better way to end the day than with a tasty Turkish barbecue, relaxing with new friends, and watching the sun slowly setting. (B)

DAY 7 – FREE DAY OR OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES:

Choose one of the optional activities like paragliding, horse riding, half day trek or alternatively relax by the pool. It’s up to us! We might decide to browse in town, checking out it’s unique shops, great cafes and tea gardens, and many picturesque areas.(B)
